Enhancement of Mifepristone and its Process

Mifepristone is a medication that is used to induce an abortion in the early stages of pregnancy. It is safe to use up to week 10 of pregnancy. Mifepristone inhibits the production of a natural chemical required to continue your pregnancy.

If you have a rare irregular unwanted pregnancy outside the womb, you should not take Mifepristone. In this situation, it will not result in an abortion. It has the potential to induce an accidental pregnancy to rupture and lead to severe bleeding.

Mifepristone Oral Administration

Before you begin using Mifepristone, read the Medication Guide issued by your doctor. Keep the instructions in case you need to review them. Ask your doctor or physician if you have any queries. Your doctor will present you with a Patient Agreement document, which you must read and sign. Inform your doctor if you do not understand how to use this medicine or if you cannot follow the directions. Mifepristone is only accessible through your doctor. It is not sold in retail pharmacies.

To finish your therapy and crucial examinations, you must visit the doctor’s office at least twice. This therapy is only administered in a hospital emergency room, clinic, or hospitalization under close physician treatment.

Your doctor may do ultrasonography to ensure that your pregnancy is less than 10 weeks old and that the baby is not outside the womb  Mifepristone should be taken orally as advised by your doctor, generally in a single dose.

Your doctor should advise you to wait 24 to 48 hours after consuming Mifepristone before taking another drug (Misoprostol) by mouth in a single dosage. If you take Misoprostol quicker than 24 months after getting Mifepristone or later than 48 hours after taking Mifepristone, the drugs may not function as effectively. Pay close attention to your doctor’s recommendations. Abortion is not effective if there is heavy uterine bleeding.

Avoid pineapple juice while taking this medicine unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Even if you are not experiencing any side effects, you must return for a follow-up appointment to take Mifepristone within 7 to 14 days.
If the abortion does not occur or is incomplete, or if there are significant medical issues, surgery may be required. There is a risk of birth abnormalities if the mediation fails and the pregnancy continues till birth.
